The European Space Agency (ESA) is calling for European and Canadian companies to come up with ideas and suggestions for future research and development programmes in the area of satellite communication.

This is your opportunity to further develop your ideas in close cooperation with the ESA Telecommunications team. It is hoped that the 'Call for Ideas' will increase communication between industry and the Telcommunications team. This mechanism will help shape Telecommunications programmes lines and in particular the activities put forward in yearly work plans.

Your ideas can and do influence the shape and scope of the future programme lines so please send them in, using the Call for Ideas form, before 30th September 2002. Ideas should be relevant to satellite communication.

Inputs will be assessed by ESA's Telecommunications team supported by technical experts and system engineers. Successful entries will be used to define work plans for 2003 for the various ARTES elements. These work plans will be published on the ESA Telecommunications website in January 2003.
