GSEW update –
ESA’s first Global Space Economic Workshop brought together leaders of major space and non-space European stakeholders sharing suitable space-led innovative visions that will define the years to come.
GSEW is part of a broader process aiming to develop a new framework that stimulates cross-cultural partnerships, creates multidisciplinary synergies, encourages a move away from individual challenges of very specialised ecosystems to mega-challenges that can potentially be resolved through a multitude of approaches.
On 13 October, a new community of innovators was formed. This community builds on an open platform of creative cross-fertilisation among diverse industrial sectors to strengthen innovation across Europe.
The members of the community will receive a monthly update with shared interviews, relevant articles and all the news on future initiatives and follow ups. The aim is to maintain the momentum and to promote collaborative discussions and exchange of ideas. We want to engage you and to hear your voices.
ESA is offering support to participants interested in organising their own GSEW events throughout Europe, to open up the community and open up debate on your challenges. Several participants have already expressed their interest in organising potential Global Space Economic Workshops.
The first follow-up proposal has come from Italy for a workshop focusing on cybersecurity and connected vehicles. It will help to consolidate joint understanding of future space cybersecurity scenarios leading to a strategy, potential action plan and roadmap for implementation.
