The SME Office is part of ESA’s Directorate for Industry, Procurement and Legal Services. It implements and manages the SME Policy adopted by Member States, and coordinates its activities with other institutional actors, such as the national space agencies.
The aim of the SME Office is to facilitate the involvement of SMEs, including start-ups and newcomers, in the research and development activities of the Agency.
SMEs can contact the SME Office for information on:
- registration with ESA, general procurement issues and to access the Hotline.
- programmatic aspects of ESA programmes and activities.
- entering into activities of the Agency.
- training events that have been organised in coordination with ESA Member States.
The SME Office raises awareness of SME capabilities by maintaining an SME database of industrial capacities and by organising networking opportunities such as the Industry Space Days (ISD) and other related events.
The SME Industry Portal website is managed by the SME Office and provides information to SMEs registered with ESA and those in a cooperation agreement or within Member States, to facilitate opportunities to work with ESA and within the European space industry.
For further information on support available to SMEs and for all matters related to the SME database and for other requests related to ESA programmes (payments, information on tenders, name of experts, to share ideas, proposals), please contact the SME Office by sending an email to SME-Office@esa.int
