ESA is offering a free two-day course on 2–3 April in the Netherlands on Product Assurance and how it is implemented in ESA projects.

This course describes the Product Assurance (PA) tasks to be performed throughout a project and provides practical examples with tips on where to find relevant information. The course does not provide detailed training on ECSS or ECSS tailoring (see here for ECSS training courses) as the tailoring is highly dependent on a specific project and product.

While a generic overview of Product Assurance tasks is provided to all participants on day 1, day 2 covers Hardware and Software PA aspects in more detail.

Participants choose either the Hardware PA or Software PA module, depending on their needs and interests.

This course is of particular interest to organisations that intend to develop hardware or software (stand-alone or as part of a higher-level system) for ESA.

Although no previous software experience is required, it is recommended to have some background in software engineering if Module 3 (Software PA) is attended.

More details about this course can be found on the PA Training homepage. Register online by 19 March. Please note that a maximum of two persons per SME can be admitted.

For further information, dates and status of this course and other training organised and supported by the SME Office, take a look at the Training calendar on the SME Training page.
