The closing date for the Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) programme Research Fellowship has now been extended to 31 August 2014. The programme will take place at ECSAT in the UK and looks at "Success factors for economic sustainability”.

ESA's Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) programme transforms research and development activities into operational, profitable and self-sustaining products and services. The success of ARTES is the result of consolidating public-private partnerships between the decision-makers from space industry, service providers, organisations and user communities within participating Member States.

The ARTES Space Applications programmes are dedicated to funding and promoting the development of space-based applications, services and solutions for the needs of European citizens and society at large.

You are invited to apply until 31 August 2014, as Research Fellow in the ARTES programme.

We expect you to conduct high-quality research in an area that actively contributes to the understanding of key success factors of the macro and micro economic environment that lead to sustainability of small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) operating in the ESA Member States territory with particular focus on the ARTES Space Applications programme.

Applicants must have completed their PhD (or equivalent) studies in Economics, Finance or any other domain relevant to the field of research proposed. Research experience and peer-reviewed publications in topics related to the research activity proposed is an asset (e.g. macro and micro economics).
