An influential survey has placed ESA among the top 15 most desirable employers for engineering and IT students in Europe. The Agency has risen to 13th position in the annual Trendence Graduate Barometer, ahead of big-name private companies such as Rolls Royce, Boeing and Sony.

Measuring aspiration

Over 120 000 students from 24 European countries took part in the engineering and IT edition of this year’s survey, which asked participants which companies they find attractive, how they look for their first professional position, and what factors are important for them in this position.
Internet giant Google retained top position in the tables, followed by Volkswagen Group, Microsoft and BMW Group. However, ESA is the highest ranking public organisation.

Keeping ESA at the top

Fernando Doblas, Head of ESA Communications, welcomed the news. He said, “ESA’s excellent ranking in the Trendence survey is testament to an increased awareness of the Agency. Thanks to positive messages, ESA is synonymous with knowledge, inspiration and innovation”. ESA’s Head of Human Resources, Bettina Boehm, was similarly positive and added “It is great to see the interest of highly skilled and motivated young people to join the Agency”.
