    Listen to space station leaders at ISS symposium

    Leaders of space agencies at ISS symposium

    The International Space Station symposium in Berlin opened yesterday. Top representatives of the five ISS partners participated in a roundtable to discuss ground-breaking research and future projects.

    The event started with welcome addresses by Jean-Jacques Dordain, ESA Director General, Johann-Dietrich Wörner, CEO of the DLR German Aerospace Center, and Philipp Rösler, Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, Federal Chairman of FDP and Vice-Chancellor of Germany.

    A roundtable discussion followed on ‘Research on ISS for the benefit of mankind’ and ‘ISS as a stepping stone for Human Exploration’ with: Kiyoshi Higuchi, Vice President of JAXA, Takaaki Iwasa, Office for Space Utilisation Promotion Director (MEXT), Mark Uhran, NASA ISS Director, Alexey Krasnov, Director of Human Spaceflight Programme Department at Roscosmos, Gilles Leclerc, Director General for Space Exploration at the Canadian Space Agency and Jean-Jacques Dordain.
