The 4th edition of the Young Lawyers' Symposium (YLS), took place on the 26th of April 2019 at ESA ESTEC in the Netherlands. This event concluded a 3 days ECSL events which proved to be very constructive.

This year in particular, the YLS was dedicated to Prof. Elisabeth Back Impallomeni who passed away on 28 June 2018. In honour of her memory and as a tribute to a long-standing ECSL Board member, the ECSL would like to remember her sincere commitment to both her work and to students. The ECSL and the space law community will miss her profoundly.

The YLS was a great opportunity to echo Prof. Elisabeth Back Impallomeni dedication to young scholars, as the aim of the event is to allow early career scholars and professionals to present on a space law related topic in an international forum.

The YLS 2019 centered around three themed panels considering legal aspect relating to:

Panel 1: The future of the Moon Agreement

Panel 2: Commercial mining of celestial bodies
