Incubation project MAVinvi at cesah
The main concept of MAVinci GmbH is to use a Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) to provide affordable and customised aerial data acquisition, including advanced imaging instruments. The MAV is able to fly autonomously along a pre-planned track by means of satellite navigation and is capable of auto landing.
A modular on-board instrument system allows taking conventional or infrared images. Additionally, the expandable system offers the possibility of mounting any kind of customer-specific equipment, e.g. temperature, electrochemical or radiation sensors.
The MAVinci technology can facilitate daily business in terrestrial applications such as energy distribution, disaster surveillance, geological and geographical assessment, archaeology, forestry and road construction, among many others.
The aerial images and 3D digital elevation models (DEMs) are an optimal addition to satellite imagery as they can monitor ground surface with a very high resolution and with a short repetition rate.
This unmanned Micro Air Vehicle closes the gap between expensive manned aeroplanes, satellite imagery having inadequate resolution, and military-derived UAVs, which suffer from high operating costs and complexity.
The first customers include several universities in Germany and DLR, the German Aerospace Center.
