Communicating European achievements in Space, Ecsite 2012

    Conveners of the workshop

On 30 May a pre-conference workshop concerning ‘Communicating European Achievements in Space’ has been organised by Ecsite, Cité de l’Espace and ESA at the Ecsite annual conference "Space and Time, unlimited".

The aim was to highlight collaborations with museums across Europe and to open discussions for new future space-themed collaborations.

At the end of this one-day workshop, science centres, museums and ESA agreed to work together to make a proposal to the Ecsite board by the end of November in order to create a "space" thematic group.

The proposal wil be made in collaboration with museums across Europe and it will be led for the first year by Marc Moutin, Director of the Cité de l'Espace, Ana Noronha, Executive Director of Ciência Viva, Lisbon, Portugal, and Maria Menendez, Head of ESA Exhibitions and Images.

Museums, science centres, Ecsite members and ESA will meet again during the International Astronautical Congress, IAC, that will be held in Naples from October 1-5 2012.
