Global space industry to meet in Scotland

    23 June 2008

The world's biggest space show - the 2008 International Astronautical Congress (IAC) - takes place in Glasgow, Scotland, between 29 September and 3 October 2008.

With more than 2000 delegates and a large supporting exhibition, IAC 2008 will provide an international focus for the space industry.

It will bring together scientists, engineers, business leaders and students to debate the latest ideas, current activities and future ambitions across a diverse range of space-related topics.

All members of the media attending IAC 2008 need advance accreditation and the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) is pleased to invite your media organisation to apply.

Journalists should note that here will only be limited opportunities to register at the Congress itself and failure to do so in advance may result in delays to gain access.

As well as a completed form for each individual representative (which includes camera/production crew), supporting documentation for each submission should include PDFs or JPEGS of your Press Pass and Passport, together with proof of employment/commission and, if freelance, some examples of published work.

Please note that media accreditation will only be given to active members of the media attending the Congress in a news-gathering capacity, and accreditation will only be given to photographers commissioned by a news-gathering agency or specific publication. All PR, advertising, marketing and sales personnel will require exhibitor passes and should not apply for media accreditation.

Journalists wishing to apply should fill in the electronic Adobe Acrobat PDF form; Press Accreditation Application Form - and send the completed form by email with relevant supporting documentation to Rocio Caparros - rocio.caparros@iafastro.org

The form is also available on the websites www.iafastro.org and www.iac2008.co.uk where further advance programme information will be posted, and details for travel and accommodation in Glasgow can be found. The deadline for submissions is 31 August.
