    Ownership of intellectual creations

    Ownership of intellectual creations produced by a staff member, fellow or expert
    Within the scope of their duties Outside the scope of their duties
    Belongs to ESA

    ESA's DG may give and award to the staff member or authorise them to exploit the rights concurrently with ESA or waive those rights in favour of the staff member, provided that this does not prejudice the rights of Member States

    Belongs to ESA staff member, fellow or expert

    The staff member, fellow or expert should always notify their intellectual creation in order to allow assessment in respect of their duties

    Ownership of intellectual creations produced by contractors
    When ESA contractors create a work, they hold the ownership since ESA considers that the originator of the said work is best placed to exploit it
