Space for Earth
As researchers demand faster and ever more specialised information to help them find answers to pressing environmental questions, ESA’s approach to the implementation of Earth-observation missions has begun to change.
The new focus is on political awareness, industry partnerships and closer cooperation. ESA is working with the European Union on the European GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) initiative, which will merge political requirements with technical and operational capabilities.
