ESA needs a reliable communication network. The IT Department works with the best providers to ensure reliable and efficient services for telecommunications, and Internet connection with the most advanced technology for our staff and contractor’s convenience.
We are responsible for a common IT infrastructure which is composed of ESA-owned elements and structures and services provided by many suppliers across the world. Our services support the needs of the corporate, support and programme Directorates for:
- Communications: data, voice and video networks, telephony, security and mobility,
- Workplace: collaboration, email and messaging, videoconferencing, PCs, printing facilities, mobile platforms,
- Computing and information input, private and public cloud services, data centres and dedicated workstations, storage backups,
- Management applications in support to business process operations (Finance, Procurement, Facility Management, Human Resources etc.),
- IT service desks and proximity support,
- Cyber security protection and monitoring.
