15 February 2002: The payload adaptor in front of Envisat. The adaptor is the ring which extends from the elbow of the person to the middle of the document he holds. In the middle of the ring, there is the clamp band which will separate the ring in two halves and release Envisat at the end of the launch. In the middle of the visible part of the adaptor, just above a white square with a yellow diagonal, are the brackets of the umbilical connectors. These connectors will open at separation and this opening will be read by Envisat as the signal of the separation.
