The novel loudspeaker with Ariane technology from the French start-up company Haliaetus Technologies SAS won second prize out of more than 1400 competitors in this year's contest organized by the French Ministry of Research. Their loudspeaker uses the advanced flow-dynamics of the booster nozzles on the European launcher Ariane. At the prize giving event 29 June 2004 at the University of Sorbonne, Paris, Denis Ranque (right), President of the jury and CEO of the Thales Group, hands over the second prize on behalf of the French Ministry of Research to Raphaël de Thoury (centre), Manager of Haliaetus, and Jean-Pierre Morkerken (left), inventor and researcher at Haliaetus. Morkerken holds the winning loudspeaker.
