The Simona Project, an initiative sponsored by the Italian humanitarian aid organization INTERSOS and supported by the European Space Agency, provides weekly tele-conference between medical doctors in Baghdad and Rome, where they can discuss medical cases and exchange information on cure treatments and have medical training sessions. In order for the tele-consultation to happen one telemedicine station was located in Baghdad at the Children Welfare Teaching Hospital and in Rome at the hospital "Policlinico Umberto I" which is part of the "Sapienza" University in Rome, Italy.
