Next 12 October a Soyuz will be launched from Europe's Space Port in French Guyane, carrying into orbit the second pair of the so-called Galileo IOV satellites.

The first 2 satellites were sent a year ago marking the start of the Galileo Operations.

IOV stand for In-Orbit Validation: it's the phase when the Galileo system is assessed through tests using the operations of a mini constellation of these four operational satellites and their related ground infrastructure.

This Video News release explains the different aspects of this third Soyuz launch from Kourou which marks another concrete step for the Galileo Programme.

It includes Interviews with Javier Benedicto, ESA Galileo Project Manager in English, French and Spanish and Giuliano Gatti, ESA Galileo Space segment Manager in English and Italian.

The video files can be downloaded from the corresponding video production.
