Alexander Gerst/Exp 57 landing in Kazakhstan

Landing of the Expedition 57 crew (Auñón-Chancellor/Gerst/Prokopyev) on the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft is scheduled at 05:03:04 GMT, 11:03:04 Kazakhstan time on Thursday 20 December.

ESA TV will offer live coverage of all key moments of the operations starting at:

- Farewell ceremony and hatch closing 19 Dec at 2220 GMT (tx 2200-2230 GMT).

- Undocking of the Soyuz MS-09 from the Rassvet ISS module scheduled at 0140 GMT (tx 0130-0215 GMT).

- Landing coverage itself will start some 30 minutes before touch down in the steppes of Kazakhstan, scheduled at 0503 GMT, (tx 0430-0615 GMT).

- Kazakh welcome ceremony at Karaganda airport – non-live feed 1030-1100 GMT.

The German ESA astronaut will then return to the European Astronaut Centre, Cologne, for check-ups and research into how humans adapt to living in space. See ESA press release PR34-2018 of 05 December for media opportunities at Cologne airport on 20th and at EAC on 22nd.
