Keep informed via the ESA Web Portal

3 July 2003

Ensuring that ESA’s Web Portal contains up-to-date information on space, in all the 11 languages spoken in the ESA Member States, is a constant challenge. Efforts are underway to increase the number of news items and services available on national sites but remember to take a look at the main homepage of the ESA Web Portal as it contains much to interest non-English speaking visitors.

One new service easily comprehensible to all is the National Galleries section. This provides an entry point to the space programme image galleries of many ESA Member States plus Canada, which has a cooperation agreement with ESA.

Maybe you are looking for an image of Jupiter or a European astronaut, or would like to see what a future launcher may look like; or you may want images to illustrate one of the many areas assisted by European satellites such as telemedicine, navigation or monitoring volcanic eruptions. Chances are that whatever the subject, if it is connected with space then images can probably be found either in ESA’s own Multimedia Gallery or in the gallery of one of its Member States.

This link to National galleries is provided by ESA as a service to Web Portal visitors; as these are external sites ESA is not responsible for their content. For copyright issues and any other queries, please check the terms and conditions on the national site or contact them direct.

When checking out the main Web Portal page why not take a look at some of the other interesting features available. These include the Focus on section with a link to Europe goes to Mars and a variety of topics under the Space live section such as See the ISS, The ozone watch and The Sun now. In the future many of these features will also be available on the national sites.

Are there other topics or services that you are particularly interested in? If so, make your views known via Contact ESA.
