ESA’s Education Office is delighted to announce that the Budapest University of Technology and Economics has been selected as the host of the 2nd Symposium on Space Educational Activities to be held in April 2018!

Following the Education Office’s call for proposals in March this year, several universities and higher educational institutes from across Europe applied to be the host of this event, from which Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) was finally selected. The three day conference will be held at one of BME’s building on the banks of the Danube river, and is planned to take place around mid-April 2018.

This event follows the first symposium which was initiated and hosted by the  Center of Studies and Activities for Space (CISAS) ’Giuseppe Colombo’ of the University of Padova in December 2015, and will continue to be an excellent forum for students, professors, and professionals from around Europe to present and discuss their educational space-related projects and programmes.

The purposes of the symposium are:

  • To constitute a forum that enables a survey of educational space-related activities;
  • To share experiences among students and young professionals from different countries and to provide networking opportunities with international professionals within the space sector;
  • To increase the understanding of academic, industrial, and government organisations of the importance of hands-on activities and specialised training and learning opportunities for the next generation of space scientists and engineers.
