Applications for the 2020 ESA summer and autumn teacher workshops are now open. The summer edition will take place from 7 to 10 July, and the autumn edition from 1 to 4 October. Both workshops take place in the Netherlands and are geared toward both primary and secondary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) teachers.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING COVID-19.

Applicants are kindly requested to note that, depending on the evolution of the corona virus situation in Europe, and in line with the recommendations of ESA's Director General on travel restrictions for health and safety reasons, the ESA Education Office reserves the right to cancel a teachers' workshop, to limit potential exposure of participants or employees to the virus. In case of cancellation, applicants or selected participants will be notified individually.

The workshops, identical in both summer and autumn editions, will feature keynote lectures from top-level space experts and visits to the ESA ESTEC facilities. Over the course of a four-day programme, participants will engage in practical training sessions that demonstrate how to use space in the classroom as an inspirational context.

The workshops also represent a unique opportunity for teachers to network with their peers and space experts from across Europe.

Who can apply?

The workshops are open to primary and secondary school teachers of STEM-related subjects residing and working within any of ESA’s Member States, as well as Canada and Slovenia.

Please note that priority will be given to teachers who have not participated in previous teacher workshops given by ESA.
