The project
The LunaNet team develops a payload to test the associated communication protocols required to support a lunar internet.
The ground segment team provides the primary ground station for payload data downlink from lunar orbit and for operation of LunaNet and a back-up mission control centre for operations of the ESMO spacecraft. This ground station, located in Raisting near Munich, also serves as a back-up station for telemetry and telecommand transfer. The tasks of the team include the refurbishment of an existing ground station.
