ISO 9001:2000
Since December 2003, the Automation and Robotics Laboratories (ARL) hold a certification of conformity to the Management System Standard NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2000.
The certificate has been issued by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), one of the leading world-wide registrars for ISO certification.
The Scope of the certification are the Services provided by the Laboratories in the frame of:
- Automation and Robotics concepts definition, breadboarding and demonstration for ESA/ESTEC internal customers;
- Project support and public relations demonstrations for external organisations
Management System Support Software
To simplify the operation of its own quality system, the Automation and Robotics Section has developed and set-up a ARL Management System Support Software (AMSSS).
The AMSSS is used by Laboratory customers in order to access and use the services provided by the ARL.
The AMSSS also allows, by means of a friendly Web user interface, both ARL customers and management to have a clear picture of the activities in progress, status of the equipment, requests of maintenance or procurement and much more.
Finally the AMSSS allows the ARL management to elaborate statistics and numeric performance indicators to control and maintain the quality of service of the ARL.
