Lossless Hyperspectral Data Compression
Recent technology advances have shown that a new compression paradigm, called distributed source coding (DSC), has the potential to provide low-complexity algorithms, with very competitive compression performance. This has been the subject of an ESA-ITI type-A project (ESTEC contract 20035/06/NL/LvH), where an on-board lossless prototype compression algorithm, based on the DSC principle, has been developed and tested. The activity was completed successfully in 2010.
