Europe in Space - Sverige i Rymden exhibition
    7-20 December 2006

    Europe exploring the Solar System

ESA, together with the Swedish National Space Board and the City of Stockholm, is show-casing European space activities in a public exhibition at the Kulturhuset in the centre of Stockholm, Sweden.
The exhibition, from 7 to 20 December, will invite visitors on a journey into space.

Here you will discover European launchers and contributions to the International Space Station including the Columbus laboratory and the Automated Transfer Vehicle that will ferry supplies to the Station. You will see stunning data from ESA’s recent missions to Mars, Titan, Venus and the Moon and learn about Europe’s ambitious plans for future exploration of the Solar System, with a special feature on ExoMars, the first ESA rover to visit Mars, scheduled for launch in 2013.

With the many challenges facing world leaders in the 21st Century you will find out how space and space systems can play an important role in improving our everyday life.

The Europe in Space - Sverige i Rymden exhibition is just part of a space festival being hosted by the City of Stockholm in December in celebration of the Celsius Mission with ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang. This Swedish national will fly to the International Space Station on a 12-day mission, during which he will carry out scientific experiments and assembly tasks.

During two spacewalks he and other crew members will install a large part of the Station’s truss and connect the power from two large solar arrays, providing the ISS with a permanent supply of electricity, critical for future assembly and operations.
Presentations by space experts will be held every day at 11.30 – 12.00 and again from 17.30 – 18.00, including the following speakers from ESA:

    Saturday 9 December, 12.30 -13.00:
