ISS DVD Lesson series
ESA is using the unique opportunity to perform experiments in space to explain basic science concepts, fitting the European curricula, to pupils aged 12-18.
A series of science ISS DVD Lessons, explaining basic concepts with simple demonstrations, will be produced with the help of European astronauts during their missions on board the ISS. The first ESA astronauts to participate in the series are Pedro Duque, André Kuipers, Roberto Vittori and Thomas Reiter.
For each space-based ISS demonstration, comparable on-ground demonstrations performed by pupils from selected schools across ESA Member States. This direct comparision helps to familiarize pupils with the differences between the Earth and space environments.
