The 9th ILEWG International Conference on Exploration and Utilisation of the Moon (ICEUM9-ILC2007), co-hosted by the Italian space agency ASI and ESA, will take place in Sorrento, Italy, from 22-26 October 2007. Abstracts should be submitted before 15 June 2007.

The conference is sponsored by ASI, ESA & the International Lunar Exploration Working Group (ILEWG).

The main themes of the conference will be organised in various sessions:

  2. Results from SMART-1, and latest reports from Chang'E 1 and Selene
  3. Agencies activities and plans
  4. Keynote speeches: Science, technology, human exploration
  5. Status of future missions: Chandrayaan-1, Lunar
  6. Reconnaissance Orbiter/ LCROSS, future landers and orbiters
  7. Science and exploration of the Moon: Results, open questions and new approaches
  8. Technologies, infrastructures, resources for future robotic and human exploration
  9. Societal, legal, policy, economics
  10. Next steps for robotic landers, rovers and outposts
  11. International prospects for utilisation and human exploration
  12. Reports and recommendations from working groups
