FSL Experiment Container for investigations on convection and interfacial mass exchange in FSL
The goal of the CIMEX experiment is to quantify mass-transfer processes across interfaces, and their coupling with surface-tension-driven flows and instabilities in a pure liquid and mixture.
The results will be used to test theories and numerical models. A tomographic interferometry technique is developed for the spatial reconstruction of the convection pattern in the liquid-phase. Furthermore, micro-thermocouple racks will provide detailed information about the temperature distribution across the gas-liquid interface.
