    Assigned to the backup crew for the 105-day Mars500 study

    Current employment:
    Mabilotte is currently studying for a PhD in International Relations and Diplomacy at the Centre for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies, Paris.

    Education:
    1997-99 – Post-graduate degree Business and Administration at IAE, Paris.
    1996-97 – Post-graduate degree Computer Systems Engineering, University of Paris.
    1995-96 – Master of Science in Space and Aeronautical Engineering, Marseilles.
    1994-95 – Math Spé M in Applied Mathematics & Physics, Lycee d'Enghien-les-bains and DEUG MIAS in Applied Mathematics & Computer Sciences, University of Paris.

    Experience:
    After starting in software research and development, Mabilotte worked as a pre-sales consultant and manager for France Telecom between 2000 and 2002.

    From September 2003 and April 2005, he worked for the European Patent Office (EPO) in Belgrade, Serbia, where he led a European Commission project for the protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Western Balkans. He previously worked for EPO as International Project Manager in The Hague, the Netherlands.

    In 2006, Mabilotte was an International Elections Observer for the Ukrainian Parliamentary elections with the Organisation for Cooperation and Security in Europe (OSCE) on behalf of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    Mabilotte started studying for his PhD in International Relations and Diplomacy in April 2005. He is also a lecturer at the French National Scientific Research Centre (CNRS).

    Interests/hobbies:
    Travelling, learning languages, reading, cycling, paragliding (he holds a paragliding pilot license), swimming, rollerblading, chess.
