    Successful launch of 150th Ariane

    The 150th Ariane launch

    The 150th Ariane launch (flight V.150) took place successfully on Tuesday 16 April at 08:02 p.m. Kourou time (11:02 p.m. GMT - 01:02 a.m. CEST on Wednesday 17 April).

    An Ariane 44L (equipped with four liquid strap-on boosters (PAL), lifting-off from the Guiana Space Centre - the European Spacepart in Kourou, French Guiana - placed into a geostationary transfer orbit the telecommunications satellite NSS-7 for New Skies Satellite N.V.

    The next Ariane 4 launch (V.151) is currently scheduled for Friday 3 May 2002 and will put into Sun-synchronous orbit the CNES' SPOT 5 Earth Orbservation satellite.
