    Briefing for Industry – 2 March 2001

    15 February 2001

ESRIN is planning new activities in the area of Earth observation applications and market development for 2001, for a total cost of more than 5 million Euro. To increase awareness of these new opportunities for European and Canadian industry ESA is organising a Briefing for Industry on 2 March at ESRIN in Italy.

Participants will be briefed on the status, scope and planning of the new activities scheduled to commence in 2001, and on the overall approach and longer-term perspectives for the development of Earth observation applications at ESA. The new activities will be mainly in the area of Earth observation market development but will also include opportunities for applications development and the use of Earth observation data.

During the briefing, representatives of industry will be encouraged to give their views on the implementation of the Earth observation market development programme to date and on the recent market evolutions in services based on Earth observation data.

European and Canadian industries active in the domain of Earth observation and services will be invited to bid for contracts via open competitive tender.

If you wish to attend the Briefing for Industry on 2 March please contact:
