Launch diary - week 8
26 August 2002 (D-1)
As expected, the launcher moved from the final assembly building (BAF) to launch pad (ELA-3) between 8.00 and 11.00 (D-1).
Everything is on track.
23 August 2002 (D-4)
No activities are performed on MSG-1 today, but launch is confirmed for 27 August.
The launcher will be moved from final assembly building (BAF) to the launch pad Monday, 26 August, from 8.00 to 11.00 (D-1).
22 August 2002 (D-5)
We perform a manual countdown, basically, a dress rehearsal at D-3 days. Everything goes without any anomalies.
The dress rehearsal is the simulation of H0 - 10 hours until H0 + 30 minutes, including the participation of the co-passenger spacecraft on the launch vehicle.
21 August 2002
We charge the batteries and check their functions. No problems are discovered.
20 August 2002
Upper composite installation on the launch has been performed.
19 August 2002
The satellite is unloading from payload container (the CCU2), and is been installed on the launcher with the specific MSG shock configuration. This consists of three shock attenuators: the passive shock attenuator device (100 kg in weight) the modular fitting dummy (700 kg), and the generic shock attenuator device (100 kg).
