ESA at COP15

Government representatives gathered at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP15) in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 7-18 December 2009, to work out a new international agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions before the Kyoto Protocol expires in 2012.

ESA attended the COP as an observer but also maintained an exhibit in the centre of Copenhagen and hosted a special side event demonstrating how Earth observation satellites are playing an important role in monitoring climate change.
