New CDF Nears Completion
The installation of an auxiliary air-conditioning system for the projection room was the last major structural work carried out to the building, prior to the implementation of the new CDF.
With each seat requiring computers, monitors, microphones, cameras and a host of ancillary equipment, the wiring required specialist installation.
Screens on the walls of the CDF can be used to display additional information such as action lists or configuration drawings to support the design activity of the team.
The custom made Smartboard was the final major item required to allow the completion of the Design Wall. Once delivered, it was quickly installed and calibrated.
Despite the work going on in the New CDF, the facilities offered made it a good place to hold a pre-session meeting with the Cross Scale Study customer (Cosmic Vision programme).
