1986: On 24 January 1986, NASA's Voyager 2 performed a fly-by of Uranus.

Voyager 2 obtained clear images of each of the five large moons of Uranus - Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, and Oberon (known before the encounter), and discovered ten new moons.
