Rosetta and Hubble videosof Comet Tempel 1
Here are some animated sequences of various observations, both before and after impact, which occurred on 4 July 2005.
Before impact: these animated unprocessed images were taken by the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera intrument on board ESA's Rosetta comet-chaser spacecraft, between 29 June and 3 July, approximately three hours apart.
After impact: the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope captured this dramatic sequence early in the morning of 4 July 2005.
This shows the development of the flare due to the collision of the Deep Impact impactor spacecraft and Comet 9P/Tempel 1.
