Project: Fluid Logistics
Benjamin’s Fluid Logistics system is a dynamic, flexible, environmental-friendly novel key technology which enables individual, highly adaptive, fully automated, on-demand and "just in time" material flows. It intelligently adapts in real time its technology to a wide range of ever-changing situations, processes and needs.
The benefits of Fluid Logistics are that storage, handling and production can take place at significantly increased speed; thus requiring considerably less space and resources compared to current technologies such as today’s used modern storage systems. Fluid Logistics is a mobile, modular, scalable, compatible, universal technology free of mechanics and rails. It provides individual and parallel processes.
From space to industry
The technology of Fluid Logistics moves, detects and processes a high number of different objects and varying processes in a coordinated way.
Simultaneous requests, adaptive layouts, complex real-time requirements, comprehensive platform network systems, algorithmic optimization of material flows and physical interactions of machinery, logistics units and men require a stable and completely safe software functionality close to artificial intelligence.
The cross-industry software platform for the Fluid Logistic technology is a solution which is based upon a highly qualified software design (Software Requirement Document) and requires a formal professional supervision and review of the development (Software Requirements Review).
The realization and implementation of the process and material flow management software is carried out according to the ESA used requirements ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) and the Galileo Software Standard.
ESA Business Incubation
ESA provides expertise for the quality management of the applications currently under development by the project team. This includes review of the system design, the development and the application programme interface.
Incubation period and location
The benjamin systems incubation team is being hosted at ESA Business Incubation Centre Darmstadt located at the Centre for Satellitenavigation Hessen (cesah), from May 2010.
