    ESA Business Incubation Centres

    ESA BIC Lazio

    ESA Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) Lazio is located at the Business Incubator ITech in Rome, Italy, which is situated near the European Space Research Institute (ESRIN), ESA’s centre for Earth Observation (EO) activities.

    EO satellites provide a constant stream of data which are used by scientists, institutions and industry to support the management of natural resources and the monitoring of the environment at a global, continental and local scale.


    ITech Business Incubator
    BIC Lazio's Business Incubator ITech hosts ESA BIC Italy

    The centre has close links to European industry as well as to international organisations such as the European Union, United Nations agencies and civil protection, agriculture and environment ministries in ESA Member States.

    ESRIN is a multi-disciplinary establishment, which hosts teams involved in the VEGA Launcher Programme, ESA Corporate Informatics and ESA website, as well as applications of space telecommunication.

    In cooperation with the Business Innovation Center of Lazio Region (BIC Lazio), Italy, ESA BIC Lazio offers business start-up support as well as technical expertise particularly in the areas of systems and software infrastructures for data handling, and integrated Earth observation, satellite navigation and communication applications.

    Entrepreneurs and start-up companies at ESA BIC Lazio will be hosted preferably at BIC Lazio's Business Incubator ITech.

    Managing ESA BIC Lazio

    ESA BIC Lazio is part of ESA’s Technology Transfer Programme Office, and is managed by BIC Lazio.

    BIC Lazio is a development agency of Regione Lazio (the Italian region Lazio) and the Business Incubator ITech is part of a network of development offices in the region.

    Since its creation in 1990, BIC Lazio has set up and managed a number of specialised business incubation centres.

    How to apply

    At the moment ESA BIC Lazio Call for proposal is closed.

    Once the open call will be opened by the end of 2012 the applications can be submitted at any time.

    The formal application procedure will be explained in the documents which can be downloaded from the Documentation section on the right navigation bar. The templates to be used for the application is also provided.

    In the near future the addresses to which proposals should be submitted electronically and by mail will be specify.
