ESA technology transfer at HANNOVER MESSE
Established sixty years ago, the HANNOVER MESSE today ranks as the leading international showplace for industrial technologies, materials and product ideas.
Better, faster, more effective: to survive and prosper in the face of global competition companies need to constantly maintain and improve their performance potential. Leading-edge technology plays a pivotal role in corporate competitiveness.
Over the years the focus has shifted from stand-alone components to end-to-end solutions. Technical innovation is one key element in the success of HANNOVER MESSE. Another is its sharp focus on the creative application of existing knowledge.
ESA's technology transfer network partner MST will in Hall 2 present a series of technologies developed for space which are now on use in non-space systems on Earth. Over the past 35 years, the European space industry has gained considerable expertise in overcoming a hostile environment, which has led to the development of many valuable new technologies.
With its technology transfer network ESA's Technology Transfer Programme Office (TTPO) is making many of these space technologies available for use in non-space fields and systems, through further development and licensing.
The Hannover Messe will take place 21 – 25 April 2008 at the trade fair ground in Hannover, Germany.
