19th International Communications Satellite Systems Conference and Exhibition

The 19th ICSSC conference will be held in Toulouse, France from 17 to 20 April 2001. Within the theme of the conference, “Satellite Communications for the New Millennium”, special emphasis will be given to new services and applications.

The main focus will be on Internet and broadband communications, digital broadcasting, personal communications, navigation and positioning services.

Satellite systems are recognised as a key component in the introduction of wide-band multimedia services for end users. The conference will address issues regarding the necessary further expansion of satellite systems in the new millennium, including, innovative and tailor-made service offers, economic issues with low equipment fees and tariffs, international cooperation, regulatory issues and access to frequencies.

The conference will provide a forum to review and demonstrate advances in communication techniques, ground and on-board technology, spacecraft and launch vehicles, systems architecture, applications and services in the field of multimedia satellite communications for fixed, broadcast, mobile, personal applications.

A large exhibition hall located at the conference venue will host exhibits from a variety of space and telecommunications related industries and organisations.

The 19th ICSSC conference is jointly organised by ESA, AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics), CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales), and SUPAERO (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de L’Aéronautique et de L’Espace) in cooperation with major European industrialists.
