Face-to-face sessions with ESA executives at TIA Info Days Conference

    TIA info days 2009
    4 May 2009

ESA’s Telecommunications and Integrated Applications directorate is giving the satellite communications industry a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with ESA executives during the annual TIA Info Days Conference, scheduled for 3–4 June in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Individual 30 minute meetings will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis during the second day of this two-day event, giving members of the satcom industry the chance to discuss ideas, give suggestions and network.

The first day of the conference will provide an overview of the opportunities available for industry within the TIA Directorate. Speakers include Magali Vaissiere, Director of TIA, who will talk about the outcome of the recent Conference of Ministers for Space Activities, and Jose Maria Casas, Senior Advisor on Telecommunications, who will speak on satcom perspectives for 2009 to 2013.

Programme and department heads for all of the Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) elements will provide a short presentation, including ARTES 1, ARTES 8 (Alphasat), ARTES 10 (Iris) and ARTES 11 (Small GEO). An explanation of the division of ARTES 5 into ARTES 5.1 and 5.2, as well as the amalgamation of ARTES 3 and ARTES 4 into ARTES 3-4 will be given and two new ARTES lines, ARTES 7 (EDRS) and ARTES 20 (Integrated Applications) will be introduced.

Those who register on day one for the day two face-to-face meetings with the TIA department and programme executives will have an opportunity for a 30-minute one-on-one session. Space for these sessions is limited. Registration forms and further information about these sessions will be available at the registration desk at the end of the first day, 3 June.
