The International Space University in Strassbourg will host the Space Agencies Technology Transfer Officers (SATTO) group's yearly meeting Thursday 21 February 2019.

The SATTO group was established in 2015 to exchange best practices and experiences in spin-off and technology transfer from space programmes, as well as also finding common grounds for joint initiatives, to foster re-use of innovations developed for space systems and satellite services to boost other sectors in the society.

"We are delighted that the space agency technology transfer colleagues chose to have this year's meeting at ISU. This allows them to interact with our students and alumni, who are becoming space entrepreneurs in higher numbers every year," says  Juan de Dalmau, President, International Space University

"In addition, the meeting comes in very timely, as the ISU campus is now hosting space incubation and acceleration services with the support of ESA, CNES and the Strasbourg Eurometropolis.

“We are particularly interested in transferring space technologies or in using space data for the mobility and future vehicle sectors."

The SATTO working group included a number of international and national space agencies and offices, including NASA from USA, ESA from Europe, CSA from Canada, CNES from France, DLR from Germany, ASI from Italy, JAXA from Japan, the Space Office from Switzerland, the Aerospace Research Institute from South Korea, and the National Institute for Space Research from Brasil and ISA from Israel. Most of the members will be present and also OECD will participate to the SATTO meeting this year.
