Drilling, sample acquisition & processing

The widely acknowledged next step within space exploration is drilling deep (two meters seems the most scientifically valuable and the most technologically reasonable) into the surface of planetary bodies. ExoMars and Mars Sample Return will both require this capability and a great amount of work has to be performed in this area as well as in the related sample acquisition and processing technologies.
