European manned spaceflight patches

This is a chronological overview of the main flight and mission patches worn by European astronauts, from the latest missions tracing back to the earliest. Not only ESA, but all European spacefaring nations and organisations are represented, for a complete history, and in tribute to all those who have contributed to Europe's continuing human ventures into space.

Description
ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano (IT) is assigned to fly on the Soyuz TMA-09M spacecraft to the ISS, scheduled for May 2013, as part of the Expedition 36/37 crew. Expedition 36 begins with Parmitano, cosmonaut Maxim Surayev and NASA astronaut Karen Nyberg joining the cosmonauts Pavel Vinogradov and Alexander Misurkin and NASA's Christopher Cassidy who will be already on the ISS.

The Expedition 36 was designed by Blake Dumesnil.
