ESA Euronews: The Rosetta Odyssey
 
8 July 2010   In the 19th century, the discovery of the Rosetta Stone unlocked the secrets of Egyptian hieroglyphs. Today, 21st century scientists are hoping that the Rosetta mission will unlock the secrets of the oldest 'building blocks' of our Solar System - the comets - and their origins and influence on our planet.


ESA Euronews: 'Space for Earth' at ILA, Berlin
 
25 June 2010   The Berlin Air and Space Show, the oldest exhibition of its kind, celebrated its 100th anniversary this year. The show, which takes place every two years, is a meeting place for experts and amateurs passionate about aviation and space. Foremost among its exhibits this year, was the 'Space for Earth' pavilion, hosted jointly by ESA, the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the BDLI.
ESA Euronews: Mars 500 : The ultimate challenge
 
11 June 2010   To fly to Mars a crew would have to spend a year and a half cut off from their home planet. To understand this ultimate test of human endurance, an international team of volunteers is sealed inside a research module for 520 days. Euronews looks at the Mars500 project.
ESA Euronews: Satellite TV - beaming pictures from space
 
31 May 2010   Thanks to satellites thousands of kilometres above Earth, the World Cup will be watched live on TV the world over this summer. Every goal, every foul, the joy and the pain will be relayed from the pitch to our living rooms in an instant, by bouncing the TV signal off an electronic platform floating high above the equator. But how exactly does it work, how are the satellites controlled from the ground and what risks do they face in orbit?
