| | ExoMars is increasingly recognized as ESA's future flagship interplanetary mission | | Major industrial gathering for ExoMars
13 June 2008 The Prime Contractor for ExoMars, Thales Alenia Space-Italy, invited Europe's space industry to Turin, Italy, on 29 May 2008, for an informative event on the status of the mission and potential procurement opportunities in the ExoMars programme. On this occasion some 150 representatives of 80 European space companies and institutions met at the Altec facilities in Turin. This meeting offered an opportunity for the future builders of this mission to meet and discuss informally their roles in a pleasant and welcoming environment.
The ExoMars project is increasingly recognized as ESA's future flagship interplanetary mission. More than 500 scientists worldwide are showing their interest and enthusiasm for this major Mars mission.
'European Mars Walker' Thales Alenia Space opened the sessions of presentations with an animation of the ExoMars mission timeline called 'The First European Mars Walker', which was very well received by the audience, reflecting the enthusiasm and support that carries this challenging mission onwards in its design phase. To share the outlook for the 'European Mars Walker' the animation is available below.
