The following documents are of the highest importance for the programme. All the applicants are strongly encouraged to consult those and take them into account while applying:
1. 'Terms and Conditions for Participation in ESA Parabolic Flight Campaigns', ESA
This document describes in detail the roles and responsibilities of all the participants in the Parabolic Flight Campaigns. It must be read and understood by all the participants prior to step D (see schedule) and includes a statement that must be signed by the students, as well as by the endorsing professor / academic of the selected teams.
2. 'Medical Requirements for Parabolic Flights', Novespace
All parabolic flight participants are asked to comply with medical criteria, in preparation for step D (see schedule). The certification is the same as that required for astronaut candidates (JAR FCL3 Class 2).
3. 'Novespace A300 Zero-G Rules and Guidelines', Novespace
This document describes all the technical conditions and constraints to be respected while designing an experiment to be flown on an ESA Parabolic Flight Campaign. Please note that conditions defined in the What Experiments Can Be Undertaken page on this website are to be respected, even if more restrictive that what is defined in this document. This document is to be taken into account as early as at the beginning of step B (see schedule).
4. 'Template of Letter of Intent', ESA
This document is to be completed during the first step of application (A.0. on schedule). For more information, please visit the How to Apply page of this website.
5. ’Introductory Note‘, Novespace
The purpose of this document is to provide students with:
- information regarding technical & safety selection criteria
- level of information requested for filling the first revision of the ESDP at selection step
- general advice and tips for managing the project
6. 'Template of scientific proposal', ESA
This document is to be completed at the time of the design of the experiment (B.0-1 on schedule). For more information, please visit the How to Apply page of this website.
7. 'Experiment Safety Data Package', Novespace
This document is to be completed at the time of the design of the experiment. It includes all the technical information regarding safety. Based on this document, the prime contractor will decide whether the experiment is authorised to fly. A first draft version is expected at the end of step B.0., and the final version will be prepared during step C.
Please note that this document is updated on regular basis. The participants are responsible for downloading the last applicable version before filling it in.
8. Erasmus Experiment Archive, ESA
After every ESA Parabolic Flight Campaign, an abstract of the experiments that flew is included in this database. This resource may be of great help when it comes to defining your project.
