MSG ground controllers plug into satellite for live test
 
7 February 2012   An intensive, two-day test of the third Meteosat Second Generation satellite saw ESA mission controllers in Germany connecting their computers to the satellite at a manufacturing facility in France. The test was a milestone in the lead up to launch this summer.
ESA keeps watch on weather
 
29 September 2011   The 8th International Weather Forum is set to open in Paris, France. The five-day event offers exhibitions and educational workshops to visitors on the subjects of weather and climate, energy, environment, water and space.
Astrium to build ESA's Sentinel-4 atmospheric sensors
 
11 July 2011   ESA today awarded a contract worth almost €150 million to Astrium to develop and build two satellite sensors that will monitor Earth's atmosphere as part of Europe's Global Monitoring for Environment and Security programme.
