Mars Express design competition
With Europe on its way to the Red Planet, ESA invited the public to "Picture Mars". This new animation contains our selection of the artwork submitted in round 2 of the competition.
Contestants were invited to share their ideas on Mars with thousands of ESA Portal visitors, with drawings, paintings, collage or computer-generated art.
The competition was open to all ages and nationalities, in two rounds. ESA selected the best entries in each round on the basis of originality and graphic appeal.
